Welcome to Scallop’s monthly wrap! As the first month of the new year comes to a close, it’s time to look back and reflect on the events and updates throughout this past month. Let’s take some time together now to review all the accomplishments this month — focusing on where we are today and considering what lies ahead in the near future.

AMA with the CEO

Scallop had their first Ask Me Anything (AMA) of the year on January 5, with Scallop’s CEO Raj Bagadi at the helm. He answered questions and gave updates about Scallop’s current plans and what is yet to come.

We are thrilled that we have over 12,000 whitelisted users for the Scallop App.

Last but not least, we are also preparing to introduce the world’s first-ever biometric bridge! Do watch this space for future updates!

Withdraw and Stake competition

It was an exciting time for Scallop users, and we announced a huge opportunity for 5 lucky winners to win a Ledger each! The competition was open to all users who withdrew and staked a minimum of 100 SCLP between January 9 at 23:59 UTC and January 16 at 23:59 UTC. The stakes were high, and the competition was fierce. Still, for those who could snag a Ledger, it was a sweet reward for their loyalty to the Scallop community.

Scallop reaches Mount Vinson -the highest peak in Antarctica

In June, Scallop became the first DeFi brand to reach Mt. Everest. Scallopians, did you think we would stop after Everest? Definitely not.

We made yet another history as we teamed up with one of the world’s leading climbers, Kenton Cool, to conquer Mount Vinson, the highest point in Antarctica. The climb was a physical challenge and a test of mental fortitude and teamwork. Scallop crypto and Kenton Cool worked together to reach the summit and raise awareness for their brand. The climb was a huge success, and it was an honour for Scallop crypto to be a part of such a historic and meaningful achievement.

Towards greater automation: Powered by Chainlink

Taking automation to the next level, Scallop announced the integration of Chainlink Automation on the BNB Chain mainnet. This integration allows the secure and cost-effective triggering of staking reward payouts in the Scallop staking application, streamlining the process for users and allowing them to benefit from automated staking rewards.

This is a significant step forward for Scallop users, providing them with a more efficient and user-friendly experience. This is a win-win situation for both the users and the Scallop community, and we are excited to see how this integration will further drive the growth and success of Scallop.

Celebrating the Chinese New Year

Towards the end of the month, we announced a Giveaway to celebrate the Chinese New Year. To participate, users had to follow Scallop’s official Twitter handle, join the official Telegram channel and announcements channel, tag 3 friends and comment on the announcement tweet.

The lucky winners received 2 Ledger wallets as a prize.

This giveaway was a great way for Scallop to engage with its community and give back to its loyal supporters. It also allowed new users to discover and learn about Scallop and its offerings. Overall, the Chinese New Year Giveaway was a fun and exciting way for Scallop to kick off the new year and bring good luck and prosperity to its community.
